Hi everyone,

I'm not sure where to post this, but I need some ideas! I'm in desperate help and time is running out..this is for my first paid cake for a friend. I just KNOW it will open many doors for me since they said they needed a new cake lady cause their other ended up with carpal tunnel.

Well here it goes, The cake is due this Friday and it's for Father's day. However her husband loves cars especially the older model types. She sent me a picture of her husbands car and we agreed on an edible image on half a sheet cake, she also sent me another image of her husbands car club online and she wants to incorporate the ford logo somewhere on the cake. So with so many pictures she wants I'm at a loss as to how I want this cake to "be" without it looking so "busy", I thought of a Scrapbook cake, I do have the 2 layer book pan, but I have no idea how to incorporate this without it looking "plain" not to mention I know nothing about scrapbooking.

Any thoughts? I posted before for help and didn't get much of a response so I'm going to try again with my *fingers crossed* I REALLY appreciate ALL the help I can get!!

PLEASE help!

Thanks so much,
Michelle

Does it have to be a sheet cake? Do a search on google for wedding cake with photos...a bunch of cool tiered cakes with photos come up...

Hi and thank you so much!

Well she said that she only wanted a cake to feed about 30 people and then she said she'd want a half sheet and that I could do anything I wanted with it as long as I added the photos etc.. I just tried searching google "wedding photo cakes" and just came up with flowery type cakes lol unless I'm doing it wrong icon_sad.gif

Thanks and keep the ideas coming please! icon_smile.gif

Ok If it were me I'd do the photo of the car on the top of the cake then put in your frosting edging. Then on the sides of the cake I'd make small (2 inch or so) color flow ford emblems and place them evenly spaced apart along the sides of the cake.
Ok I have not had all my coffee yet so I am not sure if that makes any sense at all...but I hope it helps icon_biggrin.gif

How about the car photo on the cake and shrink the Logo to small enough to fit the side of the cake..make four of them and centre one on each side.
Then embellish with some nice piping framing the logos & the car, to match the border.

It sort of depends on colors and how the border color works with the pictures. The right color could look really neat with a stars border around the car... sort of like a marquee or advert. I would use the shell or reverse shell around the smaller logos and if you use just one on each side, I would add a little scroll work to accent them a little. Bead borders also work nice around photos, if you want to make it softer.

That link has a couple of borders on it but if you do a search for "edible images" in the photo galleries you will see many possibilities.

Something like this might work well for the logo especially if it is
shaped oval.
