Just curious - my recipes and "how-tos" are in binders but I'm looking for a better way....

Mine are in a binder as well. I put dividers in the binder and then purchased clear sleeves for all the recipes I print. When I use one, I make notes at the bottom of the page so I can remember what I did and did not like.

I have cake recipes in one section, icing in another, cookies in another, specialty fondant and gumpaste recipes in another section and then at the end of my binder, I have all the articles I have printed out on differnet methods and other "how to" articles. Works for me right now. My binder is quickly getting full.

Don't look under my bed icon_redface.gificon_razz.gificon_biggrin.gif Seriously...I need to get organized. My bookshelves, cabinets and drawers are full. I've resorted to stacking mags and papers in boxes that used to have seasonal clothing in them and stashing them under my bed. I should switch over to a filing cabinet but I don't have room for one of those either icon_cry.gif

I have SEVERAL binders! I have one for cakes, one for icing and filling, one for how-to's and ideas (like my own little favorites file) and I'm about to start one for technical issues and other recipes! When I make something I don't like, I just throw the recipe away. I do make notes though in my printed cookbooks.

i Have program i have found helpful but.... i cant seem to add an attachment for it. soooo pm me if you would like it and i can send it in a zip file.

its called azzcardfile. you set up what they call cardfiles, example: cakes, cookies, how toos, pictures. and with in those you set up cards with your info. you can sort then a-z and search for stuff with in that cardfile. i use this for allot of diff stuff. its easy to use. i find some recipe on the net just copy and past it into a card.

if you want the program i saved my cardfiles in the zip so you can see how it would work. please ignore any spelling errors as i do most of my surfing at night icon_redface.gif

Doh, Im so organized on the computer, folders, subfolders, sub sub folders, but guess that doesnt automatically translate into neat and tidy with pieces of paper etc icon_cry.gif

You've made me feel sufficiently guilty (good thing LOL)- I'm going to organize while I watch my show tonight thumbs_up.gif

I save everthing on my harddrive in folders as well as on CC. My reasoning is this...

I will print ideas/ recipes as needed and the throw them out so I don't have them floating around the house. I keep it all accessible on CC so that if I am away from home, I can access it all icon_smile.gif

I am good about making notes and adjustments to my files on my hard drive.
