I used this in place of the vanilla and other flavorings in the recipe. I really did not care for the taste - it was kind of too lemony. I think it would be great for a cake that was supposed to have some type of citrus flavor - lemon or orange maybe.

I also use it in place of regular extracts. It has a citrus flavor and is better with fruit flavored cakes as aggiecakes mentioned.
