A lady wants a Bratz cake done like a doll cake. I was trying to think of a really "cool" promlike dress since it has to be in a bell shape. This is one that I thought was pretty cool (maybe I'll do it in another color though), but I just can't figure out how to do this in fondant. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can think of another idea let me know also.

THANKS
LL

Wow that´s a really cool dress icon_biggrin.gif Exactly like that I don't know but with layers you can cut stripes of fondant, roll out one side thin, with a ball tool or with a mini rolling pin or even with your fingers, than fold that end a bit to the inside an and put the strip on the cake. Then from the bottom up, every layer over another one.

I hope this makes sense icon_wink.gif

Good luck with your (challenging!!) cake thumbs_up.gif

I've never done, but had a thought.......

Roll out one big piece of fondant like you were going to cover a round cake, but bigger so that you can ruffle. cut a circle out of the middle for where your doll will go. Lay the fondant over the doll and cake. Start at the top and ruffle the fondant while pinching where you want it to stay ruffled. You would probably want to practice to make sure you have enough fondant to cover the whole cake once ruffled.

I think this would be beautiful on a cake! I hope you give it a shot and take pictures! icon_smile.gif
