I don't think you can refrigerate MMF with much success. It tends to get wet and sticky, from my experience anyway.

Let me start by saying I am new at using fondant and I have never tried it. BUT I have read where a lot of people DO refrigerate fondant. They say that it does sweat, but it you dont touch it and let it evaporate that it is fine.

I have made MMF and put it in the frig. When you take it out, it will "sweat" a little, but if you leave it alone, it will be fine - my experience anyway.

I cann't see why not I froze one for 1 hour then wrapped it in plastic then in foil. when I took it out I left it wrapped till it thawed. It was my first mmf cake so I did not know that most people had not done this. It turned out great.

I've decorated with it and put the cake in the refrigerator...I didn't have any trouble with it. No sweating....

I ALWAYS put my mmf cakes in the fridge. NEVER had a problem with it. The cake will sweat a little bit but won't hurt it.

there is NO PROBLEM with putting MMF in the fridge..it gets hard...when u take it out, it condenses a little, and then it's back to normal...

You can refridgerate it but DO NOT touch the cake when it is sweating. It will dry on it's own and be fine.

I'm sorry, icon_redface.gif I didn't see the part that says it's on the cake..
definitely you refrigerate it.. if it's just fondant alone, then you don't need to.

Unless you have a filling that requires refridgeration, you don't need to refridgerate a fondant covered cake. It's preferable not to.

I have refridgerated mmf, but ONLY on a cake. I have the best results when I LOOSELY cover the cake so air still circulates around it-just lay seran wrap over it loosely. If I seel in the whole cake then i have had some problems, not much, but it didn't look as good as i wanted it too.

Will condensation hurt the coloring on MMF? I painted with food color on the cake, am I still able to refridgerate it?
