how do you find out about cake contest in your area?
Most of the time it's through web sites like this and other cake forums. If you know of some other cake decorators they sometimes have information about shows.
Cake decorating stores sometimes have the information and the entry forms. You can also try using a search engine for cake shows, contests, competitions, etc.
I can tell you that the next one I know is the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show in Tulsa for the last weekend of September. I think Maryland is planning their next show for April 19th and 20th. Janette Pfertner and I are hoping to have a culinary exhibition in April as well. Ours is still in the works.
