Just spoon your cake batter into the cones, stand them on a cookie sheet, and bake as per the batter instructions, probably about 20 minutes...
These are best eaten the same day you bake them as the cone gets a little stale (chewy).

This recipe used to be on the side of the ice cream cones, I don't know if it still is. You may want to take a look at the side of the Joy ice cream cones and see if it is still there (it has been so long since I have bought some ice cream cones, maybe I should make a mid night run to the store icon_lol.gif )

Definetely consume in same day if not within a few hours! The cone goes soft very fast. Soft in a stale, no-crunch way.....not really appetizing.

Another helpful hint - while baking, put each cone in the cupcake tin instead of a cookie sheet with reynolds wrap around them so they wouldn't tip over. I agree that you have to eat them within the same day. Have fun.

This was just in July's issue of Real Simple magazine (the most awesome magazine on the planet, IMO!! thumbs_up.gif) ... I just got it in the mail a couple days ago. This link pretty much gives the same info as people have already provided, but this is printable.

Last time I looked, it was indeed on there, as well as nifty little rack specifically designed for making ice cream cone cupcakes. icon_smile.gif Always meant to get one of those...

Hi, you can check on my pics for my first try at these, then the second which turned out so much better. I used choc & van bc together to top the cones and a cherry sour with sprinkles. Very easy to do, and kids loved them.

I copied someone else's idea for transporting as well, they don't travel to well, just cut holes in a large box, cover with wrapping paper and stick the cones in. They arrived perfectly at the picnic!
