Here is a photo of my fair cake. I won 2nd place. Not bad but not the greatest when there was only two cakes!!! Catergories were Most Outstanding, 1st, and 2nd. This was my first year to enter a cake in the fair. The other two cakes enter did great techniques. The Most Outstanding did sotas with roses in the middle. And first place did a cake that is in Wilton Course III. I don't know what it is called but you take royal icing and make hearts over the flower former, after it has harden you can place them along side of the cake. I am still pleased with my cake even though I didn't win. Standing around it last night I heard a lot of "Wows". That made me feel better. My only problem....... They were suppose to judge on taste too but none of the cakes were cut. So I guess they changed their mind.
