I just finished my first fairies (following instruction found here of course
) and for the most part I happy with how they turned out. However, it seems to me that I was a little heavy handed in the face department
. If anyone could give me some suggestion of techniques, books, tools etc that helped them achieve a more "natural" apperance I would be eternally grateful!
TIA
I think they look great too! Here is a recent discussion on doing the faces for fairies. It has some good info on the how-to's=) Jen

maybe they could use some thumbs, but i think they're cute
they are really cute!!
If you want to tone them down a little , instead of black use a dark brown and a little thinner lines. You could also use a plum/pink colour for their lips and paint them a little smaller. Try using a thin long bristle liner brush about oo or 000
This how I painted my angels. ![]()
They are lovely - but you're right, they do look quite made up. Replacing the blck for brown and the red for a pale pink will sort it easily. You could add a tiny bit of pink powder for a blush and make their pupils a little smaller.
Cute fairies! And I'll have to say, this is one of the funniest thread titles I've ever seen!
