Hi,
I am pretty new at this and I am making my first wedding cake 8/4/07.
The Bride is using hot pink and mango for her colors. She wants big swirls, with both colors on all 3 cakes. The hot pink shouldn't be a problem, but how would you get Mango? I am using Wilton colors. Would I get it better with peach or orange? Should I add a hint of other colors to either?
I would appreciate any advice. I want to practice the colors ahead of time to make sure that I reach the correct shade
Thanks,
Cheryl

I would say peach with a touch of orange

If she hasn't, make sure she gives you color swatches so you have something to match the color to!

To me the color of mang is a yellowy-orange, so I would start with lemon yellow with a touch of egg yellow and a touch of orange.

I'm not sure what mango colors you have here in the states but since I come from the Philippines, mangoes would be like a golden yellow. Here's a pic for reference:

Thanks everyone, I will try your suggestions. I haven't seen an egg yellow color in the Wilton. Someday, I will try the Americolors, but I am a hobbyist, professional wannabe!!
