Help, When Will The Cake Stop Sweating?
Decorating By projectqueen Updated 9 Jun 2007 , 11:44pm by projectqueen
I took a partially decorated cake out of the refrigerator to continue working on the decorations before it's picked up later today.
It's buttercream icing with fondant decorations.
It's been out for almost an hour and it's still sweating like crazy. I can't even finish decorating until it dries up.
How long will it take?
It needs to be refrigerate because of filling so I guess this whole thing will happen again later to the birthday girl?
Not sure how long it will take to dry, especially if you have humidity causing you trouble. But have you tried using a fan to circulate the air? I have read many times on here that CC members will use a fan to help the condensation disappear on the cake=) This will get your post up to the top again, so others can help out=) Jen
Just FYI for anyone who is interested.
I put the sweating cake back in the refrigerator where it dried up nicely. Then I put on the a/c and the fan and when I took it out again it didn't sweat. Phew.
I guess there was too extreme a difference in air temp the first time.
