I thought i'd try bc icing today, i am about to answer my own ? i think, but anyway, using the cooked method it calls for 1 cup sugar, is this icing sugar or normal sugar.
I used normal sugar and it seems to be separating and has a yellow tinge to it( butter i think). I think i've mucked up big time, but still tastes ok.
Please help, i want to get this right.

Yes...it means regular/granulated/white sugar. If you add the butter to the other ingredients while they're still warm, it can look like it's separated. You can chill the bottom of the bowl over ice water for a few seconds to firm up the butter a little and then beat it until it's smooth.
