Luckily my big guy (22 pounds) is too old (12years) and too lazy anymore to cause a problem. He will actually lay in front of the water dish to drink out of it!! icon_redface.gificon_biggrin.gif But when he was younger - Yeesh!!! He was so bad!!!! But amusing!! icon_lol.gif

Have you tried putting toilet lid down? My cat likes to get in the shower after I've finished!

My girl is so strong that I even put 2 bricks on top of the 2 liter tank for the water bowl and she still would move it around. And this was on an unfinished concrete floor!! The only way I stopped her from moving thigns around was when DH made a board with a bracket that I could attach a large water bowl to that would normally be used for caged pets.

My oldest cat (I have 2) is 15 and the other (the trouble maker) is going to be 9 this December. I think I've solved the problem for the most part by getting a new bowl and putting water down for them first thing in the AM and then again in the afternoon when I get home. This practice has got to stop though b/c I keep kicking the bowl over.

You guys are too funny with the cat stories! I have 2 cats myself and they are both weird. My cats will only drink out of a cup with water in it. No bowls!!!! They used to do this in the bathroom. I had to put a cup of water on the floor while anyone was in the shower to keep the cats from trying to get in the water! weird! We then had to transition the cup from the bathroom to the food and water "place"
My dad thinks it is sooo funny that the cats have their own cup! Nevermind that his cat will only drink water from the bathroom sink! You have to refill the sink after every handwashing!
Where do they get this behavior?

Oh, my cat doesn't chew on the plastic bags, however he likes to knead and chew on the comforters on the beds. I think he was taken away from his mom too soon. I did get him at 5 weeks old. He is 2 now. My other cat came from the local animal shelter . He's been with us almost a year, but he is very old from what we can tell. He is a good lap buddy.

I love my kitties no matter their strange behavior. Wonder what they think of us?!?

Did the previous people in the house have a pet that had a box there. Some scents like cat urine will soak into wood and the cat can smell it. If they had a litter box there or an animal left his mark, that might be the problem. Think of eating or drinking your meals in the bathroom or an outhouse. A bit extreme but a good comparision. We had a cat that went through the same thing, we moved his food and water bowls to a different room and it fixed it.

I was thinking about the exact same thing. Any of the cats that my mother and I ever had went absolutely CRAZY over green olives. It is like some kind of aphrodisiac (sp?).

I have no cats at the moment, 2 dogs, but my one is also obsessed with drinking water out of the toilet.

My old cat used to eat bread - through the bag. He'd jump up, get the bread, and start chewing through the wrapper.

Husky used to steal tomatoes from the garden, and bananas from the kids.

Husky mix will lick the shower stall after I take a shower! Also prefers toilet to a bowl. Something with running water makes animals prefer it, like in the wild they prefer streams to standing water.

Fiance greets his mother with a big hug, then licks her face like a dog.

Weird behavior - whyh is it only women are reational icon_wink.gif ???
