I am going to California Cake Camp in September. Wondering if any of you use choco-pan and would it be worth while to take a class from Linda who develeped this. thanks
I'm not even sure what Choco-pan is, (goes to show I'm pretty limited to the buttercream, huh?)
but I want to go, too.
I was able to find a flight out from Knoxville on the 2nd to Las Vegas returning on the 6th, with the Riviera hotel for $498. Is that a good deal?
Tell me about Choco-pan!

I use choco-pan, and it's a great product!. Is the class free? I imagine she would be showing all fondant stuff, how to cover a cake, how to drape, how to make ribbon. If you're interested in learning to do all that, sure, why not? The choco-pan is a little different than other fondants in that it can be rolled out about 40% thinner--Oh, and it tastes really good too! But other than that, you do things the same as other fondants.
The brochure they send with the product has beautiful color pics of cakes covered and decorated with choco-pan. Most of the cakes are very frilly and use a lot of luster dust.
I would love it if more people tried choco-pan. I really think you're missing out if you haven't tried it yet.
Here is a recipe I found.

Leta where do you get yours, online or in a supply store?
I get it from sweet art inc. at www.choco-pan.com I haven't really seen it sold anywhere else. The shipping is only 6.00 for 10 lb and it comes in a couple days. They only take paypal payments, though.
I get the bright white and the dark chocolate. I have tried the caramel also, and it was tasty.
WOW! Where have I been? I have never heard of choco-pan, but checked the web site out and it looks awesome! And at a good price considering you can put it on your cake and people will actually eat it! Can you use it just like fondant....covering cakes, molding, etc.?

Choco-pan is a brand name of fondant, just like Fondx or Satin-ice. I guess the difference is that you probably won't be able to buy it at the cake supply store, or various online vendors, it seems that the makers are the only ones that sell it. But that just means less of a mark-up for us decorators!
