O.K. Guys, I have a funny question. I have just started decorating cakes, & I've looked @ Confetti Cakes' designs. They are stunning! My question is, how do you make an "open box" cake, and cover it in fondant, or make the "backpack" cake to look so flawless? I think that I have the potential to make these cakes one day, and this is my goal. If you have any tips or suggestions for me, please, let me know. I feel more confident making the harder cakes , than the "easy" smooth buttercream with roses. Thanks!

I don't have the book you mentioned, so not sure of what "open box" you are talking about. But just incase this is it=) Here is a great discussion where Fairytale gives here instructions on an open hat box cake(and it is beautiful). Has lots of Q and A's that members asked too=) HTH some, Jen
