Just took a sheet cake out of the oven and I remember reading that some people take it out of the pan right away and do something to even it out. Can't find the answer. Can anyone help???
I leave it in the pan and flip it over onto a sheet pan and leave it that way to cool.
So many different opinions. Brandisbaked I think yours was the one the intrigued me. Going to try it now.
But what about the flower nails?
I smoosh it with a clean kitchen towel. You lay the towel on as soon as it comes out of the oven and press gently yet firmly all over the top to even it out ![]()
i lay saran wrap onto my cabinet and then flip the cake out onto it and it almost always seem to conform to the straight top of my cabinet and I almost never have to trim the top. hth
Kayakado ~ I was concerned about the same thing. I guess it would depend on how level the cake is
.
keepontryin ~ here's another idea (for future reference). Lay a papertowel on top then a large cutting board or flat heavy object. It will end up flat
plus it helps the cake become more dense.
I appreciate all of you answering so quickly. This is such a great community.
