I have a couple of cakes coming up, one is for tomorrow, that will have to be fully assembled and then transported to the wedding. What is the best way to transport a tiered cake in the car with out any shifting or movement? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I also use the non-slip shelf liners. They work great ![]()
You can get them at WalMart or Target. I use the large non-slip pads for under area rugs. They can be cut to fit whatever size you need and are inexpensive.
Buy lots of shelf liner. Once you start using it you'll want to have plenty on hand at all times, it's super versatile. I use it on my turntable to keep the boards from shifting on it and I've used it between boards and decorator plates too. Probably one of THE best tips I got here on CC ![]()
Well, I used the slip pads and a box. It got there in one piece without any problem! Thanks for your suggestions!!! One palm tree wanted to fall but it made it there too! Check out my gallery if you want to see the cake. It is nerve wracking to transport a cake put together but maybe next week I won't be so stressed when I do it again. The cummute was a 45 minute drive through a canyon. Glad it's done!
Your cake came out wonderful, and I'm glad that the non-slip mats worked out for you! ![]()
