Need Help On Idea For Cake
Decorating By TastersDelight Updated 23 Jul 2006 , 1:40am by TastersDelight
Hi,
I've been asked to do a cake by the sheriff's office for 2 people who basically saved this lady's life. She owns an organic food shop and was being robbed at knife point. 2 men (owner of hardware store and the other works at a restaurant) wrestled the robber to the ground and tied him up with zip ties until cops got them.
they want the cake to feed around 50 people. I really want to impress as prominent people from my county will be there and this could definately lead to more business.
they didn't say anything about the price, however, i'm not too worried about that, I will be donating my time and charging just cost of cake.
Thanks
Joanne
#1: two old style west gold star badges each w/ one name >> "honoary deputies of the law"
#2: scroll w/ names "honoring x & y as citizen heros" complete w/ the blue ribbon thing on edge.
#3: trophy: citizens of the year
#4: medals (like on Cowardly Lion in Wiz of Oz) for Bravery Above and Beyond the Call of Duty
I think your name says it all. TastersDelight. Show off the flavors of the cake(s). I would think of this as an opportunity to give a sampling. I believe the decorations could incorporate a theme around "community". I believe that is what the celebration is all about. People helping people, especially in very scary situations. Good luck and post pics.
Doug - as usual terrific ideas!! Thanks!
Petite - yes I did plan to use as a sampling, however, the lady that recommended me, a regular customer, wants to pick the flavor of cake, I hope she picks Carrot, I think it's the best and also is my top seller.
Thanks to you both
Joanne
