I have one hour and ten minutes to decorate a birthday cake, before the party starts. It is for myself (31 yr old female), and a close family friend (60 year old male). It's a party for about 15 people, family and close friends. We really don't have much in common....he likes horses, I like lighthouses. He likes cats and atvs, I like reading and the ocean. I figured I could come up with an idea in plenty of time, but NOPE, I am bone dry in the idea well. I have buttercream only (I am not even at home), no fondant, royal, etc. and no ingredients to make anything else. I wanted a joke for him, but the cake is for both of us. I have the cake baked and iced, it's a half sheet rectangle, marble cake with cream cheese frosting. How do I decorate this?? Please help!!!! TIA

I am thinking the best thing you could do is make it look like a birthday gift using some primary colors. You could even get a curly ribbon bow to put on top.

Other than that...the only thing I can think of is to write "Happy Birthday" and decorate it with different colored dots and swirls.

Sorry that I could not help you more! icon_smile.gif
