Can I mix the two and add cocoa to make a chocolate cake... should I just add a box of chocolate pudding? I have exactly 3 eggs oil and some sour cream in the fridge. Cake mixes are pretty darn forgiving, so I'd just mix the chocolate and vanilla together.

SIFT your cocoa before adding it to the mix, though!

So, that's: Mix the two mixes together, and add the sifted cocoa you mentioned.

GOOD LUCK!

Put the two together and do the super enhanced cake recipe on this sight but add double cocoa powder. You should be fine and I am sure it will taste great!

Thank you all for your input!!! The cake was a success!! This was a last minute cake for a small dinner party for my BIL's 50th BD. I mixed the two (there was a bit more choc than va) I added 3 heaping TBSP of Wilbur brand dark dutch cocoa and about 1/4 cup of sour cream. The cake was DELISH!!. CC comes through again thumbs_up.gificon_lol.gif

I almost always have leftover dry mix. I use the commercial type 1/2 sheet pan and it takes one mix plus 1 cup to make enough batter. sooooo... leftover cake mix. icon_smile.gif

When I bake 12x18 cakes, I use two and a half mixes! I usually have a half mix in my cupboard. It's not unusual.
