Hi all
I am starting to do test cakes to see exactly what sort of technique works best for me, BC or Rolled fondant.
I am making (trying!!) to make a minature tea party cake of Collette peters new book, and it's going ok so far, all beit not an exact copy.
But I was wondering if anyone can tell me what happens to lustre dust if you put the cake in the fridge?
I've covered the cakes in rolled fondant and made the extra bits from modeling paste, and am ready for the final BC details and lustre dust, but I don't want to waste it either.
i prefer to have the cakes in the fridge until ready to present, so any tips?
I'll post a pic when it's finished for some honest feedback!
thanks heaps
bakerchick
I have painted and brushed on luster dust on cakes I put in the fridge. I noticed no problems with it=) Jen
Edited to add...if you have condensation on your cake when you pull it out of the fridge(never had that problem yet, knock on wood), make sure NOT to touch it! Let it air dry=)
