EUREKA moment!!! (ok...who thought of this first!!!)

this cupcake tree by 4dollars >> cc tree got me to thinking

why couldn't you just build a cupcake tree out of cake dummies?!?!

so top would be 6" then 12, 18, 24 and even 30.

and w/ dummies could get round, square, hex, heart, etc.

easy to stack and restack, to custom cover, and very LIGHT, yet strong enough!!

so it's dummy shopping time!!!

Doug, That's a fabulous idea! I printed it out for reference. I have dummies, that are little used so far. Thanks

Great idea!

I've got an idea to add - cake board covers. If ya have a pic you want, make it small and put all over printing paper before covering with clear contact paper. CARS cake? Use movie scenes. 3D puppy cake? Dog bones. That way, the board can still be regular shape, but fits in with decor. Works well for baby showers, etc, that have a certain theme.

i was also thinking...

3M makes a spray adhesive version of the glue on Post-It Notes... "Spray Mount Artist's Adhesive." It's repositionable.

see where I'm going?

spray dummies and cover them w/ anything that will stick...cloth, paper, etc. and the peel off and recover for each new party.

(see what happens when theatre people get into cake decorating!!! we're taught to think that anything we see we can adapt in all kinds of crazy ways to make it into whatever the show needs! or in this case the cake. yes, I did say taught .. actual lessons to force creativity -- but then -- creativity = 1% inspiration + 99% desperation -- and theatre folk surely run on LAST MINUTE desperation!!!)

now if only they'd taught me to spell and type!

OK, based on Dallas Foam, the chart below shows what the costs would be without tax and S&H. That's just about $60 for 4(!) towers!!

At those prices, just sell it to the bride and let her throw it away. No need to get them back!

(if you click on image it is easier to read, IMHO)

I got mine from Dallas. What a deal! Doug is right, at those prices it many not be worth the trouble or sometime the aggravation of getting them back. We can start a Mensa and Doug could be the charter member---and probably the only member.
