Will the colors darken when mixed with gumpate like they do in buttercream icing? RED is so hard to get! my hands are killing me from kneading it. Maybe I should go buy some red fondant and mix it together?

Doug, I am working on some things for the Ortiz Cake today. I have made small baseballs and stars not sure if I will use them but will be good to have if I do. I have put them on wire.

THank you for your help in advance!

for dark colors, I knead in the color as a base (red or black, for example0, but I also apply petal dust or pastel chalk to final product (after cutting/shaping) to get a darker and more realistic color (look at the black eyed susans in a flowerpot cake in my photos as an example)
