My grandson wants a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake for his birthday coming up. I have an idea in my head and just sketched it out. (My drawing stinks) just wondered what you think. I will do a FBCT for the Logo, and use large dowels to hold up the fondant hands. Do you think this will work? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I think it's cute! I haven't worked with fondant like that, so I'm sorry I cannot give you advice there - but I just wanted to ask if Mickey's ears would be larger? I know you said your picture stinks (which I actually think is a very good picture!), so maybe you already planned it - or maybe with fondant you cannot make them larger. I think the cake is going to be awesome!! Even if the ears can't be larger - it's a very cute cake. Maybe you can attach the hands to the dowels with royal icing - or create them with skewers coming out the middle, and push the skewer into the cake to give it a little more support? Sorry I can't be of too much help, I just wanted to say "I LIKE IT!"

Saturday is SLEEP-IN morning--the only day of the week I can--so, I was still in Never-Never land. :YAWN!:

how authentic to the image below do you want to be?

this one is fairly easy to do using either the sports ball or soccer ball pans and for a whole head up on top, a half styrofoam ball.

your sketch two tiers and 1/2 sports ball or a soccer ball on top, w/ dowels holding up the hands would work too.

state your pleasure and we'll go from there!!!

That's the perfect picture! I did not even think about using the styrofoam for the head. I kept thinking how am I going to get a round cake to sit on a 1 inch dowel?? Maybe I should go back to sleep. I wanted to start on this today, but I burnt out both elements.Too many cakes icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

ok..so...where do you want to go with this??

sheet cake w/ the club house all built out of styrofoam?
parts of club house (such as base) edible?

your original design

back to sleep??? (<--get's my vote!)

I think I am going to do a sheet cake with the bottom of the clubhouse out of cake and styrofoam for the rest of the clubhouse. But being a woman I am apt to change my mind. I am going to show the ideas to my daughter and see which one she like best! She at first wanted me to make "Doodles" which is a television screen on Mickey's Playhouse and make each quarter of it a different flavor, but I don't want to get into all of that.
