Decorating By Ladybug21587 Updated 12 Jun 2007 , 10:50pm by projectqueen
I have a cake coming up soon and they really want the cake
to look like a baseball hat. I have seen pictures of baseball cap cakes online, but no instructions. Can someone tell me what size pans to use? Some advice on how to make would be great too ![]()
Thanks
I had lots of help from this site on how to do it, here's what I did.
1/2 sports ball pan with 6" round under it. Trace bill from real baseball cap. Cut traced bill out of cardboard. Shape bill to front of pan to get the correct shape and then tape the inside of the cardboard bill to keep the curved shape. Cover cap and bill in fondant or use 50/50 fondant gumpaste for bill. Attach bill to cap with a little piping gel. Use fondant wheel to make lines for seams and use the end of a metal piping tip to make circles for the air holes. I traced the team logo and made a cutout of fondant and attached to the front of the cap.
Good luck!
yeah what she said don't forget to post the pics ![]()
