Try white for the muzzle... (is that what it's called)... to define the nose area. Maybe that will help.
Well, I couldn't find the actual carebear you were talking about, but here's a picture of a pink one along those lines. You should be able to use it as a guidline. I would almost suggest using short pull-outs with a grass tip instead of a star tip to make it look like fur.
Yes, I would definitely go with a smaller star tip. If you don't do a white muzzle (as sweetbaker said, is that what it's called?), at least a paler pink. if you go to the care bear website, you will see that most all of then, the muzzle is lighter. Also, here is a link that has someone who did something similar.

Great minds think alike! I think the one with the cupcake on it's belly is yellow. I don't know if that matters or if she wants a pink bear. I think I'd like a pink over yellow too!
