I had my niece today since she's in-between school and summer camp. I don't get to spend time with her nearly as much as I like. My sister (her mom) doesn't speak to me (LLLLLOOONNNNNGGGG story) and my life is much better without my sister in it. Alicia's dad and my sister are divorced but he makes sure I get to see Alicia. My sister has a little boy too, but I haven't gotten to see him for 3 years (he's 4 now).
ANYWAY, today I introduced Alicia (she's eight years old now) to MMF.
She had so much fun with my cutters and made herself a pretty cake. I couldn't talk her into letting me smooth the buttercream dream.
She had no patience for that!
Hopefully we'll be seeing her cakes on here in a few years! Aunt Jodie is happy to keep the cake tradition going!
Here's my sweetpea with her cake. ![]()
Thanks all....I'll show Alicia your comments tomorrow and I know she'll be tickled. ![]()
She is just the sweetest, best behaved little girl, and I honestly can't figure out how since her mom is just a mess! She has a good Daddy though, and he's the best influence in her life.
Well, I won't SHOW her the comments, because then she'll see what I said about my sister....but I'll tell her.... ![]()
She did a great job on that cake.
WOW. Shes a cutie too.
Why did you put the girl's picture in a public forum without her moms permition? I would be very unhappy if my sister did that to my nine year old daughter
She done a wonderful job on that cake. I know that she will cherish all the time she spends with you taking time to share your craft with her will leave a long lasting impression. You are probably known to her as the Cake Aunt! It's nice her dad keeps you in the loop with her. Good luck and keep baking with her.
Paola.....as much as my first tendency would be to ignore someone who chooses to be nasty in a public forum, I would just like to ask you......how do you know I didn't ask permission? Alicia has TWO parents! Does her daddy count at all?
Perhaps the next time you have a concern, you should address the poster privately. It's a shame that you chose to jump to conclusions and be judgemental without the facts.
You have every right to be very proud of your niece. Tell Alicia I said she did a wonderful job and keep up the good work. I wish my daughter was that anxious to help me with cakes (she's 19). But seriously she did great. ![]()
Yep, another CC'er in the making
I can certainly see why you are so proud of her...that cake is wonderful plus she is a cutie...gotta love that smile ![]()
