Has anyone ever made a stacked wedding present cake using buttercream icing instead of fondant? I am doing a cake in April 07 and the bride does not like the taste of fondant. She wants buttercream, if I have to use the fondant, she doesn't mind if only the bow is used as fondant and the ribbons for the bows. If you have made one of these cakes using buttercream, please post a picture or tell me how yours turned out. I will be so grateful.
Just wondering, have you tried marshmallow fondant? Would she like that?
