I bought a small one at Michael's the other day thinking it'd be useful for ropes and what not. Well it's fine with the smaller diameter ropes (made a mean tassle LOL), but the larger ones come out all eaten up. I used choco-pan (the little sample they sent me) and the fondant is NOT dry and I kneaded it until it was very pliable.. I lubed up the opening and everything.. is there anything I can do to make this work? Or is it just the gun I have. It's small and metal and you use it like a hypodermic needle (for lack of a better explaination.. LOL). HELP!!!!!!!! I don't want to be doomed to rolling out snakes for the rest of my days.. icon_wink.gif

I think I have the same one you have. What I noticed was that if my hand shook a bit because it was hard to extrude or I was moving too fast that I got little dings in the rope, like a small kink. Is this what you mean by "chewed up"? Try holding the gun vertically and letting the rope hang straight down, then be sure you are pushing slowly and steadily.

My 2 cents: Junk! Used that type throwing pots a long time ago. Almost killed myself getting it to work.

This sugarcraft gun from Beryls will work better: http://beryls.safeshopper.com/216/7424.htm?961

I find that anything you put in it has to be very, very soft. When you think it is already soft, knead some more shortening in icon_smile.gif This is key to making things come out of it looking good.

I love my sugarcraft - you just can't put much in it at one time, hence you can't make very long ropes, etc. I plan on buying a larger one from clayking.com as soon as I can.

Just got my sugarcraft gun yesterday. Love It. Threw the klay gun in the trash the same day I bought it.
