My mom brought me some of her old tips today and some other items. Among them were 3 sets of metal couplers. I told her those must really be old, I had never heard or seen metal ones before. They are very heavy, I will have to try them the next time I decorate a cake.
Does anyone else have metal couplers or any idea when these might have been made?

I've seen the metal couplers at a local store and have always wanted to try them because I think they'd be easier to get them clean. I always worry that I won't get the plastic ones clean enough to use with royal icing later.
