I am fairly new to decorating and I have a few questions. I am making a cake for my grandpa's 101 birthday party on sunday and since lots is going on this weekend I was wondering if I make it today will it last till sunday and still be okay since my fridge won't be big enough to put it in? It is going to be a german chocolate cake.
Also I am going to put chocolate dipped strawberries on top can I do those today or should I wait until sunday? Please note that I live in Texas and the high today is supposed to be a cool 103 outside. Any advice would be welcome.

1> WELCOME!!!! (beware...this place is addicting!

2> CONGRATS GRANDPA!!!! wow 101!!! (is he getting a dalmation puppy stuffed or real for a gift? -- sorry couldn't resist! or are we going to reset the clock and He's ONE all over again!?

of course you have a/c right?, if so...

3> Cake will be fine (after all, I'm not around to sneek some away!)

4> strawberries should be done on Sunday as close as possible to party -- they can "leak" a little over time.

HTH!!!

have a great party!

First things first.... Welcome to CC!! I agree with Doug about the strawberries. For some reason chocolate messes with their ability to hold in their juice..... I guess that is why we like them so much, huh?
