I need to write Happy Birthday on a cake that I'm planning to frost with Whipped Cream Icing (stabilized recipe from the Cake Bible) this weekend.

I'm concerned about the writing bleeding onto the whipped icing and what you all use when you do these kind of cakes.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't ever had bleeding problems, and I usually use cool whip and I've used dark colors. It shouldn't be a problem.

I haven't had a problem with light colors but when I did the tooth cake (in pics) the yellow and purple bled a bit when they had to sit overnight. I use the wilton stabilized recipe and color the wc icing.

you can always stripe ur writing bag with white, then when you write use the white side down, thats how we did it at one place i worked and it worked great, or i also like to write in melted chocolate, doesnt bleed either
