minimum of 150.00. Not sure how many servings but wouldn't take any less than that for it.

122 wedding servings x 3.5 = $427 and not a penny less (I hate doing basketweave!).

Base buttercream price for 6-10-14 = $172
Upcharge of 25% for basketwearve brings that to $215
Charge for filling: $21.50
So without the fondant/gumpaste crown: $234.50
Price for the crown: $15
So with the crown: $249.50

$3.50 per serving * 95 servings (minus top tier) = $332.50
+ $20 for the gumpaste crown.

$352.50

Hey don't feel bad! There are lots of areas that won't support 3.50 per serving as a base. I've read some people post that the base prices start at 1.25-1.50 per serve! Which I can't imagine doing that kind of work for that little!!!!!

And another thing about the basketweave-I'm with you guys-not my fav to do but I know another lady that actually tries to get her brides to do bw or cornelli lace so she doesn't have to smooth the cake!! Much easier on my hands to smooth a cake than pipe all that cornelli!

Can anyone tell me how big is a per serving slice of cake? I have read how many slices each cake of different size is to be cut from Wilton's Wedding Cake Decorating Book but is the height of 4" maintained? I mean do you cut it horizontally after cutting it vertically to make it a smaller slice? Over here in my country I don't think anyone serve such a big slice to their guest. I'm having difficulty in fixing my cake prices as well. Can anyone advise me?

Welcome to CC!

In the US, the 4in height is the standard for wedding/party cakes but it may be different in your country. It's important to research the norms/standards for you.

And for pricing it depends on your skill level and base prices for your area. Again this is where you have to do a bit of research to see what prices your area will support. You also need to look at what your recipes cost when figuring prices. kelleym a member here is the CakeBoss rep. It's a program used to calculate costs.
