Does anyone have any ideas of a hollywood glamour cake? the only one I can think of is the Hollywood sign, maybe in fondant on candy sticks, and glittery..you know, like the hills of Hollywood! It is a for a "hollywood red carpet" party...

Well, you could do a fondant drape down the side of the cake to kind of mimic the red carpet, you coul do some movie reels, diamonds or flashy jewelry, ????

What about the walk of fame? Have a sheet cake covered in fondant made to look like various celeb's hollywood stars, maybe even a red carpet down the center?

I'm sure Doug has a fantastic idea or two.....

a sketch based on what used to be Grauman's Chinese theater.

edge of cake: hollywood sidewalk stars of fame.

one end, chinese gate (royal or fondant over lollipop sticks)

red carpet down middle

to either side of carpet...the footprint/handprint/name blocks in courtyard of theater.

other end, sheet cake cut and stacked to make small facade of theater (dowell it!). with fondant topper

Do you want the "pretty" side of Hollywood or the
"not so pretty" side of Hollywood ?

Pretty side would be glamorous, a lot of bling-bling, make-up, very skinny, nice dresses etc....

Not so pretty side would be, divorce, anorexia, drugs, rehab and funny looking mog shots....

But really, who wants to put that on cake ? I would do , you know that black square thing that they hold open and close when shooting a scene ?

They open it when they say "action" ! and close when they say "cut" ?
I don't know the name of that thing. And maybe a long "negative" (Film plastic thing) that goes inside a camera that you bring for processing to the photo shop ? Just my ideas.. icon_smile.gif

That is some cool ideas!

The cake is to serve 100 people, so it has to be a sheet cake. But I love the idea of movie reels! What a great idea!!

Check out this link - mentioned many times here on CC:

That is a cool link!

Any ideas on how those reels were made? Are they cookies that are painted or just print outs?

I used icing images that I found on the net, The stars, the film reels and the topper are images I put on a fondant gumpast mix, I cut them out and let them dry. The painting on the cake is done with gold dust and vodka mix, pretty simple and quick, that is why I use ising images sooooo much!
