Hi!! I've seen many cakes here with a diamond pattern, I really like how it look and I would like to know what you guys use? I've been trying to look for a textrured rolling pin, but the only website that I've found is sugarcraft.com but I only found other kind of textures, I want the simple diamond, does anyone knows where to find it or how to make it??

Thanks!!

lots of people on CC use an impression mat - a large piece of plastic, usually clear, that you press into the crusted icing or fondant.

others use a ruler and some type of blunt object such as the handle end of an artists paint brush.

In one of her books, Collete Peters (bows before the oh, great goddess of cakedom -- and throws out his back) explains how she uses a draftsman's triangle and the pattern wheel use in sewing. These triangles come in three basic slopes (slants) of 30 45, and 60 degrees which allows easy diamond making by simply standing the triangle up flat against the cake and following the slant w/ the any blunt object. -- so much for high tech impression mats.

edited for spelling and another bad joke

A tip for using the impression mat on fondant - you need to use it as soon as you place the fondant on the cake, before it has a chance to harden up. Otherwise, you won't get a noticeable impression and could cause the fondant to crack. (I learned this the hard way!)

Or, depending on the size of the area that you want to mark with the diamond pattern, you could roll out the exact size piece you are needing, press the impression mat into it, and then place the piece on the cake.

Good luck!
