Has any one done a topsy turvy cake using just buttercreme icing, or do you have to use fondant? I have an order to do my first in a two tier.So was just wondering if it was possible.

I have done 2 topsy turvey cakes using buttercream but doing some of the decorations in fondant. I did a wedding cake like that. I didn't have any trouble at all.

Check out the Whimsical Bakehouse book...everything she does is BC with candy (chocolate) accents. There is a topsy-turvy cake in there.
