For my daughters birthday I am thinking of doing a two tiered cake. I have never done tiered cakes before, this will be the first. The theme is Baby Einstein. I need help with decorating and icing part. I want the tiers to be white---the top tier will have the Baby Einstin caterpillar on it- trying to think of ideas on decorating the bottom tier-I was thinking of music notes, since I am a newbie at this whole cake thing(I normally stick with very easy cakes) I don't know if I will be able to do this. I don't know all the cake terms and all so please go into detail when explaining. In another words, I need help with decorating the cake(ideas) and dealing with tiered cakes. Thanks for all your help!

do a search in the gallery for Baby and Einstein. There have been lots of those themed cakes on here. I am sure you can get some insiration.

I think that the stick figure face looks cool, maybe you could use that somehow?

If you find some you like, whether you want to copy or combine ideas, and you're not sure how to do it - definitely post for help - don't go it alone! You can also PM the person/people that made those cakes and they can even give you a little extra advice too! We're here for ya! We all had a 1st time doing a stacked cake - don't worry - you can do it and we will help!

This article gives step by step instructions on how to assemble a stacked/tiered cake:

I think the music notes around the side of the bottom tier sounds cute. You could make them out of fondant or even chocolate or candy melts and then stick them on.

Hi,
Even though you mentioned you wanted a tiered cake, I did a Baby Einstein cake for a first b'day last year. I did it in a sheet cake though. I made a small 4 to 6 inch cake for the caterpillars head to be used as the baby's "smash cake". The customer really liked it.
