I am making a wedding cake for a customer for the end of this month. She has choosen a cake from the Martha Stewart Weddings book. It is a 3 tier stacked square cake with corners of the square cut off on a diagonal. She has given me a fancy mirrored frame to set the cake on. The frame is rectangle. Do you think it will look funny a square cake on a rectangle base? Should i go for a rectangle shape? Im scared to death to do this cake, the bride or should i say BRIDEZILLA is driving me crazy needing to know every exact detail right down to the brand of eggs i will be using in the cake!
I think that a rectangular cake would look better on the frame, but, as adven68 said, if it is centered perfectly, it wouldn't look bad
Same here.... do what the bride is CONTRACTING you to do. If there is a picture in the Martha Stewart book, make a copy of it and write on it : This is the exact shape of cake ordered by ________ on such and such date and it is to be displayed on the tray provided. Make her sign and date it. No if's and's or but's! You gotta cover your bahookey when Bridezillas are involved!
