I am making Hibiscus flowers. I saw a thread about how to make them, but do i need to have them dry in tha nail? I need to make 25 of them I can;t imagine buying that many nails. or doing them one at a time, til they are dry.
Can someone help?

When I did my hibiscus flowers out of royal icing on a lily nail I did them in foil, removed the foil from the nail and placed on a cookie sheet to dry. I own two sets of the nails, and only needed one size, so I used two lily nails, but if you only have one that will work just fine. It's a bit time consuming and they take a loooooooong time to dry. PM me if you need additional help with these flowers. icon_biggrin.gif

I cover the nail with the no stick foil. After you make it, carefully remove the foil (with the flower on it). I use egg cartons to hold them while they dry. I made 125 petunias, and they all did fine. If possible, use the paperboard egg cartons. If you only have the stryofoam ones, leave them open a bit, or poke holes in the tops.
Hope this help!

I use only one nail and then set mine in egg cartons. I never had a problem ... oh yeah, I use the Wilton precut foil -- normal foil does not work for me (not sure about the non-stick foil). I have not uploaded any of my cakes that used the lily nail ... but I do love to make flowers using the cupped nail -- once you get it down they are SO much fun and you can make all kinds of flowers!

Here is just another tip. When you put your foil in the cup take a sharp knife and cut an X in the bottom of the foil this helps in the drying time also.
Good luck and have fun.
