I'm trying to make a dolphin out of fondant, but I can't seem to get the right color. I was trying to make a blueish gray and every time I add black, it turns purple...I've tried using just a little bit of black, no blue, and it still looks purple....uggggghhhh....I'm about ready to give up. Can anyone help....Pleeeeeease....

What color are you adding the black to? I would start out with blue and then add a little bit of black.

I was starting with just the plain white fondant and adding a little bit of black to get gray. Then I thought I could add blue to get the right color....boy, was I WRONG!!!

Hmm. I'm not sure but I am guessing that if you start out with blue as your base color and then add black that you will probably get the bluish gray that you are looking for. You might want to try just a small piece as a sample that way you don't ruin a whole batch of fondant. Hope that helps!

Looking up dolphins online says the color is a dark gray with light gray under the chin. Hope this helps to stop the insanity of color changes I know it drives me nuts icon_confused.gif

Thanks guys...I think I might finally have it. I started with blue, and added some black. It looks gray right now. Hopefully it won't change to purple when it sits for a while...That's what's been happening. It's not the exact color I was looking for, but I'm sick of trying. Now to try to make the dolphin...not sure how to do that either. Hope I can just wing it.
mrsw, where in CO are you?
