Since I love to bake it hit me tonight that I can make a cake for the last day of Mother's Day Out for my kids that will be moving on to Kindergarten. The problem is I haven't a clue what to do. Here are some of my requests though.
1. I prefer to do a sheet cake b/c we can share w/ other classes.
2. Wouldn't mind doing a cupcake cake, but have no idea how to frost them.
3. If you were to do cupcakes what would you put on top? I don't mind doing chocolate transfers.
4. I don't want it to be too time consuming (why I don't want to be shaping a cake) b/c I only have one day & I'm busy except for a couple of hours during the day.
I'm posting on wilton's site too, but afraid it may not get posted in time to have responses so sorry if you have a double take.
Thanks
I was going to make a cake for my son's last day of preschool too, but ran out of time! I was thinking of doing a school bus. Maybe you could do a FBCT. I think you could even do that on a cupcake cake (though I have never done one)
frost cupcake cake(CCC) just like regular cake..anything you can do on top of reg. cake (FBCT, edible image, etc.) can be on CCC too.
for CCC, don't worry about shaping, just put cupcakes tight together. If you've ever stacked wood of other similar roundish objects... each new row goes in the "dents" of the previous row.
it does help to put a dab of frosting under each cupcake to prevent shifting....or can bake each cupcake in a DOUBLE liner and then hot melt glue to board to hold and cupcakes will lift off easily w/ no icing mess undere them
