Hi I am in the UK and have bought a Wilton cake tin to make a cake for my son's birthday. I need to use a 2 layer cake mix, something we don't have as such in the UK as far as I am aware. I would like to make from scratch anyway.

Do any of you have a suitable recipes that I could covert to UK measures that would work in one of these tins and take icing?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, Iam from Holland icon_smile.gif and we dont have a lot of mixes here either but I do have the book of Nigella Lawson ( how to become a domestic goddess icon_wink.gif ) and I use a lot of here recipes for my cakes (I also have Wilton Cakepans). In order to see how much you need, you could meausure how much liters the original recipe will have (see what kind of baking pans are used and fill them with water or half way if the recipe aks for the use of two pans). Then fill the pan you want the use with water and multiply the recipe.

I hope this makes any sense to you icon_wink.gif Other recipes I use are mostly from forums or other bakingbooks (like the Whimsical Baking House).

Goodluck!
