Hi All -
I've searched CC, as well as Google searched, and just can't seem to find that many ideas for Bar Mitzvah cakes icon_cry.gif - if anyone out there has any good websites or pics to post, I would be forever grateful! I'm planning on making making enough for 100 people, and don't want to do the cupcake thing...

Gratefully,

I googled it and came up with these...

http://images.google.com/images?q=bar+mitzvah+cakes&ndsp=18&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&start=0&sa=N

my other suggestion would be to talk to the parents and boy, see what he likes, and what kind of look they are going for. Sometimes the cake can be very much towards his interests, and others it will be formal. You can use blues and silvers and maybe do a tiered cake iced in blue with different jewish sympols on it in silver?

Thanks much -

The one thing I left out of my original 'cry for help' was that the Bar Mitzvah boy is MY son! icon_surprised.gif Talk about adding a little pressure... sigh... I will show him the pics and let him have some input...

google search >> torah cakes
(some only show in image preview, links have gone dead)
---------------
some I liked:

simple book style

open scroll

bat mitzvah but w/ color change adaptable to bar mitzvah

another scroll

simple scroll

this one -- oh WOW >> tiered torah

I did a pretty non-traditional Ballerina Madhatter for a Bat Mitzvah in the Spring. They were happy to be able to personalize it with her favourite colours and a figure of her on top. We didn't do any symbols or anything to represent the meaning of the day....just fun colours and themes to represent her.

This is easily changed to more "boyish" colours of blues etc. and his interests.
