Glad to hear it. I got a coupon off of my cake flour box for a one year subscription for $18. I am still waiting for my 1st issue. I was a little leary because I have never seen an issue but I figured for $18 that's not too bad. I can't wait to get it.

Kay - it takes a while to get that first issue - they only come out every two months. But it is worth the wait. Some people don't think there are enough cake pictures, but I LOVE all the other stuff that is in there! You get to read about real businesses- what they are doing, how they do it, and there are lots of ideas and resources. If you just want to get ideas for cakes, they also have a "mailbox" addition you can order, but if you can't wait to hear every detail about everything in the cake baking world, it's pretty cool!

They're worth the money. I too have a 2 year subscription and I look forward to every issue!

I love that magazine. I have gotten a lot of back issues off of ebay and I have a subscription. It did take a while for me to receive my first subscription issue. I think it's because it's not a monthly magazine. I also love mailbox news. It's mostly pics of non pro cakes, but still very inspiring.

I have gotten both of these for the last 5 years. I still refer back to them all the time for recipes, ideas, etc. I just wish ACD was monthly because I get so excited when its in the mailbox!

I'm considering American Cake decorator.... I bought a MBN at my local supply house and feel that most of the cakes picured, while not badly decorated, were mediocre.

I had read on CC that it might take a long time to get my first issue of ACD but I signed up in May and got the June/July issue. I LOVE it although some of the cakes are waaaay to advanced for me.

If you have not received your magazine call them. I have done that and they always staightened the situation out. I will admit I like the old editions of the magazine. have all but 3 issues that have been been printed. Also MBN goes back to the 50's. I havwe managed to collect most of those too. They were both better magazines when the original owners published them. They focused more on buttercream decorated cakes. But it is nice to have some cake mag. I wish there were more available on the market.

I love both of those magazines. I wish there were a magazine that concentrated on buttercream more, I love buttercream, but I'll take what I can get.

I like MBN more personally, but I also love ACD.

If you call about your subscription, they are more than helpful. I called when mine didn't come right off, and not only did they send me the issue of MBN that I had not gotten yet, they sent me two issues of ACD, just because they are that nice. I think it must be a small office, they are so personable.

I get these magazines also and love them. I agree that the MBN is hit and miss when it comes to proffessional cake decorating, however I enjoy seeing some of the not so experienced cake decorators getting some exposure, some of them have great design ideas!
