I have the exact same printer! Happy printing! You can get all the food colour cartridges and icing sheets from:

www.icingimages.com

Hope it helps and have lots of fun!

Congrats Doug!!! thumbs_up.gif I bet you got a good deal! You should see what some of the edible imaging sites try to charge for that printer icon_eek.gif I buy my frosting sheets and edible ink from www.kopykake.com or www.sugarcraft.com (they carry KK supplies).

thumbs_up.gif Cool beans! You'll love it! I get all my stuff from kopykake as well. Have tried a couple other places and just prefer KK more. Personally I think the color quality of their inks is very good--I never have problems with red color as I have had with other companies colors--KK's come out red and not deep orange. Have fun!

count stands at 2 all.

(any more advice --- who will win KopyKake or Icing Images)

(and no one has weighed in about Bakery Craft)

There are three major manufacturers: Kopykake, Lucks and Photofrost. Most everyone else is a distributor. Of the three, KK and Lucks have the best frosting sheets. For inks, the difference isn't really noticeable but KK's newest inks do color match better when it comes to red. One of the benefits of ordering directly from KK is the freshness of the frosting sheets. Some even complain of them being too fresh meaning they don't peel easily and have to be dried but this is a blessing if you'll be storing them long term or cutting images out of them. There have been complaints from some about buying from distributors. They received dried out/brittle frosting sheets.

Lisa you are right about those frosting sheets. My original order came from icing images. I got my cannon 1P3000 and the sheets from there. Those sheets peeled very easily. I recently ordered sheets from KK and they were VERY FRESH! I had a customer order an image and they had difficulty peeling it. I told them to dry it out with a blow dryer on low setting and that worked. ( I learned that on CC, thank goodness!!)
Doug congrats on your winning bid!

thanks for the advice all..

and I hear you load and clear.

I'll be ordering from KopyKake it looks like...

ok...one more question.

The canon's have replaceable print heads.
How long does a printhead last before you have to replace it??

Some say the life of the print head is only one year but with proper maintenance, it can last years.

(like you've probably figured out...first time setting up an edible image system!)

Just keep the inks full and flowing. If you let the print head and inks set idle for too long (sometimes a week, sometimes a month depending on humidity/climate), the ink will dry and clog the nozzles/print head. Repeated cleanings or serious clogs can damage the print head.

You can also store the inks and clean the print head of all ink during long periods when you won't be using your printer.
