I have a request to make a small cake (8" round) and the birthday guy likes golf, crosswords, and jigsaw puzzles. Any creative ideas of how to get those all on a cake without it just looking like a bunch of fondant items thrown on a cake? Thought of putting the words in the crossword puzzle...but that doesn't seem very fun. I'd like to have the actual objects on the cake somehow.

Really dont know........... maybe you could do it so the guy is sitting in a lounge chair doing a crossword puzzle and the golf set with a ribbon wrapped around it (golf sets are hard to wrap!!! lol) and a jigsaw puzzle sitting in opened wrapping paper....... just a thought.

Sort of like he has recieved his presents and sitting back on his birthday relaxing doing a crossword puzzle.

At least its a bump for you.

Good luck with it.

on 1/2 of side of cake: crossword puzzle squares
on other 1/s of side: jigsaw puzzle pieces

top: fondant figure putting ball into a hole -- flag has number = to how old.

any way you put it together (jig saw side)
the clues add up to (puzzle side)

top a "hole" lot of wishes for one happy b-day
