I am being really lazy so is there anyway to slightly stabalize cool whip so I can cover a cake in it? It is just for home. It isn't going to be given to anyone.

it will frim up as it stands.

for even firmer, make it like you would for kool-aid cream pie filling (this will be very stiff in short order)

1can sweetened condensed milk
1 pkg. unsweetened kool-aid (any flavor you like)
12 oz (or 8oz if you want stronger flavor) of cool whip.
blend all three together.

YUM and stiff enough to pipe! (sort of a low rent bettercream clone)

I make a type of filling where I add a packet of instant pudding to Cool Whip (among other ingredients) and it stiffens the CW up nice enough to use as a simple frosting.
Good luck!
(I looooove Cool Whip!)
