I have an interview with my church in about 45 minutes to be the new church hostess. I would be in charge of all the food for receptions and parties at our church. This is just what I have been looking for. I can cook and bake for other people and still have time for my four beautiful girls!! Wish me luck!
Fingers and toes crossed for you....good luck ![]()
My interview went very well. Took my cake portfolio and various catering things I have done. The position is part time about 20 hours a week and the starting salary is$16,000. Plus if a bride or someone else wants me to cater something in the fellowship hall that is negotiated by me so that money is mine. I could potentially get a lot of business from this. I won't find out till the end of the week, because being a big southern baptist church. It has to go to the personnel committee! I'll let you guys know as soon as I find out. They said someone that interviewed before me told them that she felt bad serving our congregation all that bread and sweets. OBVIOUSLY NOT FROM THE SOUTH!! ![]()

We have about 1500 members, but for Wednesday night suppers, I would just have to cook for about 100-165. This is worth it to get to do my own catering. My friend used to be the Church Hostess, and now she has built her own B&B in the mountains. Valles Cruz (sp) It is a beautiful log cabin type home.
I am so excieted for you. How awesome is it that you will get paid for this position. I am the special events coordinator for our church. I do not get paid(my treasure will be in heaven). I do get to do catering for brides and other special events and I negotiate and get paid for that. I pray you get this position. And you are right, the person who said she felt bad about feeding the church bread and sweets....NOT FROM THE SOUTH ![]()
