I looking to make a "Movie Themed wedding shower cake...
I was thinking of movie reels and tickets- I can do some pic tranfers... but I need help w/ making a classic red and white CANDY STRIPPED popcorn bag and "Soft Drink cup...
I know that I'll have to use fondant but I need help clarifing how to approach the matter...

My suggestion for the box is to create a pattern to cut out, let it dry and using glue or RI to seal edges together. To get the stripes you can either paint them or place stripes of alternating colors and roll out to blend the seems. (I saw this technique used by Colette Peters on a food network show).

that was going to be my suggestion as well- gumpaste glued together w/ RI and if you want a nice sheen just lightly steam it. If you are uncomfortable with gumpaste and have a fair amount of time use 50/50 gumpaste /fondant and let it dry a good while - it will buy you time to work w/ it still dry hard and still be steamable.

I would like it to be edible but, it look like that I might have to choose... I hate that b/c I like edible show pieces less waste more taste ( I just came up w/that) YIKES!

I have a kk projector - I think that I will make my pattern and see how that turns out...
