So my son's birthday is tomorrow but we are celebrating with all the family this sunday.....I'm making a cake for that party but for tomorrow I want to make him a big chocolate chip cookie in my large pizza pan. Should I line the pan with wax paper, or grease it, or not treat the pan at all? I've never made one like this before so I'm not sure what to do.

i dont know the exact answer to your question, but i do know that when i bake cookies, they turn out much much better when i line the pan with parchment paper. so i would line your pizza pan with parchment paper also. it should make a perfect cookie, and clean up a breeze!

I've greased my round cookie pan with baking spray and it worked just fine as well.
I greased it and then put wax paper down because the wax paper wasn't quite big enough to cover the bottom. Just a little sliver of pan remained so I didn't want to take any chances, that's why I greased first. It's in oven now and so far so good!
Thank you ladies. If this turnes out well I'll definately be doing this again.

Would anyone have a recipe for a big pan cookie that stays soft? thanks and I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day.
Hi. I made a cookie cake last week for someone. I used wilton cake release without wax paper and it came right out. A good recipe to use is the nestle toll house recipe that you find on the chocolate chip bag. If you are making a large cake then double the recipe. I have done this several times and people love it! Hope that helps!

That's the exact recipe I used and I did double it and had enough dough left over for regular sized cookies. I decorated it already and it's ready to go. I didn't however, get the "birthday" spaced right on the bottom of the cookie so it looks like a real amatuer did it. It's for my 3 year old anyway. He doesn't care. I'll post it after my movie!!!!!!! Thanks everyone!!!
